Our Brand

EST. 2026 · AOTEAROA, nEW ZEALAND

Made with love & intent, because dogs deserve to feel special too.

Why blue and yellow? Because our furry best friends don’t see the world the way we do. Dogs have a much more limited colour range, and the colours that stand out most to them are, surprise.. blue and yellow. We didn’t just want our packaging to be aesthetic and fun for dog lovers, we wanted it to be meaningful and seen by dogs too. After all, they deserve cute packaging just as much as us dog pawrents do. The chocolate brown in our branding? That one’s a little more personal. It represents Cooper, our founder’s dog and the very reason Dear Dog was born. If you look closely, the tail in our logo is also inspired by him.

Where does the name Dear Dog come from?

“Dear Dog” is how we imagine a love letter to our dogs would begin. Because at its heart, that’s what our brand is, a love letter to the ones who love us most. Dogs can’t read the words on a page, but they understand care, comfort, and the way we treat them. So instead of writing letters they’ll never read, we created products they can feel, made with love, chosen with care, and used with intention.

Our purpose is simple, to provide grooming products that are thoughtfully chosen with safe and high quality ingredients & materials. Where possible, we’re committed to making conscious, sustainable choices in our packaging and ingredients because caring for dogs also means caring for their world.

Our Story

A big idea, four paws, and a mission.

When I started searching for grooming products for my puppy Cooper, I quickly realised something: there were plenty of brands out there, but very few that were truly made with dogs in mind. Worse, many contained ingredients I wasn't comfortable using on my boy.

Cooper needs a lot of grooming. So when I couldn't find products I actually wanted to use on him, I started thinking.. why not make them myself? I knew that if we were going to do this, it had to be different. Pet care shelves are a sea of black and white. I wanted something that stood out to humans and dogs, something that made grooming fun, not just functional.

The idea clicked while Cooper was watching Bluey, our go-to show to pop on the telly whenever we stepped out. The colourful, captivating world in Bluey got me thinking about how dogs actually see the world and why they love that show so much, and just like that, Dear Dog was born: a brand built around a dog's-eye view, in blue and yellow, the colours dogs see best.

Looking ahead, my vision for Dear Dog is bigger than just a brand. I want it to become a way to give back, to support the people and organisations caring for dogs who are sick, abused, or abandoned. That's the mission behind everything we do.

Dear Dog is backed by a community of people who believe every dog deserves the world, and we'll try our best to give it to them.

With love always,

COOPER & EM
